From here I can see Ireland's Eye

Stuff - you know... really I should just write down in a diary and burn it...

So, bear with me... some random thoughts...

The art or science, or whatever of blogging, sometimes interests me more than the actual exercise...

It's at the point of "tipping" into the mainstream, but it's not quite there yet... Mentally, I catalogue the mentions I see of blogging in mainstream media, the radio mentions (mainly just Rick, of course), the response of people in the world I inhabit...

All of these influences tell me, its still early days and there will be people who just don't see the point for some considerable time to come...

At the same time, there are pioneers in the world of Irish radio, which is to some extent my universe... And tonight, I'm lazy and not bothered with Bloggers clunky link adding...

But in no particular order, from 2FM, there is Rick, from FM104, there is Jim Jim and the Strawberries, from Today FM, Ray Foley, plus others from 2Fm and maybe more I haven't seen or encountered...

It seems to be gaining ground... that must be good, because we're all thinking, writing and getting involved in a deeper more interactive process with a different kind of audience...

The weirdest thing is how photo oriented radio blogs seem to be...

------------------------------------------

One of my favourite blogs for writing and tone is a blog called Clublife... http://standingonthebox.blogspot.com/

This guy is a bouncer in NYC and he does not give a fuck... but he does...

His bitterness and odd, hamfisted eloquence is remarkable... read it...

---------------------------------------------

One of the things he mentions is that he writes to the same piece of music every time... that really stuck in my head...

I write in different states and different times and to a widely varied soundtrack, but I can follow the logic... I do only post from home, in the evening and with Itunes running... It's such a wierd dynamic sometimes, private thoughts, invisible audience...

So, some more pictures of African animals?

Why not...

Let's start with a very dignified lion...

And a very curious lion cub

How about some African Elephants?

You always have to stop for the Elephant...

And maybe some pictures of Monkeys... This is a Howler Monkey

And finally, before you get terribly bored, this is an old monkey, called Jane, she's retired...

That's it, I promise...
