Now, this has been on my mind for a while...

The Tsunami

Terrible...

Awful, appalling pictures - of course, the poorest, suffer the most, 150,000 dead - lives washed away - truly heartbreaking...

And I've been amazed at the response from everybody - the amount of money raised in Ireland... the energy and enthusiasm is fantastic...

But...

Yesterday I saw Ricky Martin touring around the disaster area - followed by a Sky News camera crew...

Ok... Why?

What exactly can Ricky "La Vida Loca" Martin offer?

Fine - let him donate money... maybe put on a gig - though I can't even begin to imagine who would buy tickets... But what in the name of Jaysus is he doing wandering around, getting in the way of the people who are either

a) trying to cope with an enormous natural disaster
or
b) trying to help out the people who survived this enormous natural disaster?

Is he trying to raise awareness? Emm... I think we're good for the whole awareness thing... Thanks Ricky...

Then, I saw a picture in the paper of Arnold Schwarzenegger flying over the disaster zone in a helicopter... Again... Why?

Throw him out of the helicopter and use the space to bring food, water and medicine...
